3 out of 12 of the American Idol contestants are not religious, ie not Christian. That's an interesting concept. And my deep thought? ... Why is that?... And is this a representation of America as a whole? ... 1/6 of the population is not religious (Christian)? ... time to contemplate.

most people don't "identify" with their religion but do in fact have their morals and their beliefs rooted in whatever they were brought up to believe. Take my dad for instance -- doesn't ever go to church, doesn't pray, doesn't do anything commonly associated with christianity. But if you were to ask him if he were christian he'd probably say yes because he's an adult and fine with identifying that all of his morals and beliefs are rooted in as such.
Now turn him into your typical teenager or early 20's pop star, and you're going to have a LOT OF PEOPLE that will denounce the faith they grew up believing for various reasons -- their dog died and 'why god why', they don't 'need' religion so they think its better not to have it, or they just wanna be the 'cool kid agnostic'.
......or it could actually be that way. But i mean seriously, the way society is today, i seriously doubt 1/6 of the population is avoiding the brainwash of their youth.
I thought about all that Lucy, and then I confused myself. :) LOL. It began to hurt, so I stopped.
